In 1978 , as fourth generation Lubbockites, Glenn and Jan Self began the home building Legacy of Excellence that would grow into the luxury Elite Homes of today. After returning home from serving in the Vietnam War, Glenn put his engineering skills to work building the first custom home of many to come. During those early years, Jan worked alongside Glenn...plumbing, framing, hanging drywall, trimming, building cabinets, painting and even roofing. Scott grew up in the shop and on the job site with Glenn, learning and building every detail of a new project. For over two decades, Scott and Glenn built all aspects of the new homes themselves. This rare experience produced the wisdom, knowledge and attention to detail Elite Homes is known for today. This time in the business would prove to be the fundamental foundation of true, hands-on, building experience that would set Elite Homes apart, decades later.

In 2000, after graduating from Texas Tech with a Bachelor's in Business, Scott was destined to grow the business to new heights. He began the work of growing Elite Homes into what it is today...one of the most sought-after Design-Build Firms in West Texas.
